Ideal for researchers working in the field or lab, this reagent ensures total RNA preservation at room temperature for up to several weeks depending on the sample type.

How to Use RNA Preserve
The amount of RNA Preserve you need depends on the type of sample you are working with:
- Tissue Samples: Use RNA Preserve only with fresh tissue. Cut tissue into pieces no larger than 0.5 cm in any dimension. For every volume of tissue, add 5 volumes of RNA Preserve.
- Bacteria, Fungi, or Cultured Cells: Before adding RNA Preserve, remove any growth or culture media. Add 1 mL of RNA Preserve to a pellet containing 1 to 1.5 million cells. Gently resuspend the pellet to ensure the cells are well mixed with the RNA Preserve.
- Soil Samples: Use fresh soil only. If the soil is wet, remove excess liquid before use. Mix 400 µL of RNA Preserve with 200 mg of soil (a 2:1 ratio).
- Stool Samples: Use freshly collected stool. Add 2 mL of RNA Preserve to 1 g of stool (or maintain the 2:1 ratio if using different amounts). Vortex gently to mix thoroughly.
- Plant Tissue: Submerge up to six fresh leaf disks, each about 0.7 cm in diameter, or an equivalent amount of plant tissue in 1–2 mL of RNA Preserve. Because leaves have a waxy surface, partially homogenized tissue (not frozen with liquid nitrogen) may be used to help the RNA Preserve penetrate more effectively.
